(SMEs) to commercialise and / or export their technology and products.

Australia experiences a unique set of problems relating to the commercialisation of
research outcomes in biotechnology based research. These problems are related primarily
to the fact that biotechnology research in Australia is mainly conducted in public
sector institutions. Unlike large commercial enterprises, many research institutions do not
have dedicated sales and marketing groups to carry out the commercialisation process.
Our approach to developing our clients' business is by:
- Assisting with identification of and participation in appropriate government programs, including funding applications
- Preparing and assisting in the implementation of Business Plans and Marketing Plans with a strong emphasis on export marketing where appropriate
- Marketing activities including market analysis in diagnostics, laboratory and health care areas
- Utilising an extensive and established overseas network of high level contacts to:
- Identify export customers
- Negotiate initial agreement
- Identify partners for strategic alliances including collaborative R & D and
investment of funds into the project. These are often large companies and
normally international
- Introducing clients to potential customers and collaborators
- Attending major international trade exhibitions to meet with current contacts, identify and develop new contacts, often accompanied by Australian clients
- Identify potential overseas agencies on behalf of Australian enterprises and initiate negotiations
- Assisting with regulatory issues - local and international
